Job purpose
The assurance advisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Aim to Sustain assurance scheme and contributing to its growth and development. This requires close liaison with Aim to Sustain partner organisations and with the scheme auditors, as well as advising scheme customers (the assured shoots and game farms) and potential customers as they prepare for and complete the assurance audit process.
Primary responsibilities
- Oversee the smooth, efficient, and effective running of the A2S assurance scheme. This will include liaising with the scheme external auditors, A2S partners and scheme customers. The role will work closely with the A2S standards committee and report to the A2S operations director.
- Be the technical point of contact within A2S for the assurance scheme and support the development and review of the scheme standards within the A2S standards framework.
- Monitor and assist with scheme recruitment and processing and assured shoots and game farm renewals.
- Assist partner organisations, assured shoots and game farms and new customers with the audit process and support them to prepare for audit and resolve issues satisfactorily.
- Advise and support all parties in resolving areas of non-compliance with scheme standards.
- Assist A2S partners promote the assurance scheme, including at specific events and shows.
- Liaise with vets and other stakeholders to broaden engagement with, and understanding of, the A2S assurance scheme.
- Be responsible for A2S assurance scheme admin and records with the scheme auditor and A2S partners, to include items such as scheme standards, recruitment and customer tracking, operational processes, management reporting (including fee income tracking), scheme rules, contracts, SLA, T&Cs, and disputes.
Dimensions and limits of authority
- This role is full time (37.5 hours/week).
- This role is home based, with expectation of some flexibility in working hours, where the post holder will be expected to work on occasion in the evening and at weekends to fulfil their duties.
- The position will involve travel throughout the UK. Therefore, the post holder is required to hold a current clean driving licence and have recent driving experience.
- The post holder will be expected to run a car to enable visits to events and scheme members and will be reimbursed for travel expenses at HMRC rate.
- Salary will be within the current range applicable for the role, dependent upon experience.
- The post holder is not required to work with small groups of children and therefore an enhanced DBS disclosure is not required.
- 30 days annual leave a year (including bank holidays).
