The pubs are back open! Well, some of them are. This is excellent news and a very green shoot of recovery. Now it is our job to emerge from lockdown and spend our money with those businesses that have been the first to put Assured Game on their menus and shelves.
The joyful reopening of pubs and restaurants should remind us of the less joyful times when they were closed for so many months. We were denied our pints and our meals out, but these businesses were denied their incomes. Many remain in difficulty even though their doors are open.
At the BGA we want to help. We maintain a register of pubs, restaurants, hotels, online suppliers and shops who stock Assured Game produced by you, our Member Shoots. These are the businesses who have supported our vision for a vibrant, assured game meat market. These are the champions of game meat out there in the community. And now they need your support.
We are asking any of these BGA Businesses, as we hope they don’t mind us calling them, to get in touch and tell us about their business and what they are doing to mark the end of lockdown. It doesn’t matter if game is on the menu right now or not, it doesn’t matter if the story is simply “we’re open!” We want to hear about it. We have almost 20,000 followers across our social media channels, where we will be sharing these stories and asking those followers to #backBGAbusinesses.
